For my first post back, it’s only necessary to discuss the cover on EVERYONE’s minds right now!
Fashion fans have wondered what the iconic Edward Enninful will curate for his final issue as British Vogue Editor-In-Chief. I can assure you that it exceeded expectations!
Throughout his career as Editor-In-Chief, Edward Enninful has inspired many through his attitude that celebrated diversity, authenticity, and empowerment. He championed diversity in the magazine pages and behind the scenes, creating an inclusive nature within the fashion industry. Enninful’s vision was reflected in groundbreaking cover shoots featuring various models and celebrities, challenging traditional beauty standards and amplifying underrepresented voices.
His final cover is no exception. There was no doubt that Enninful would leave his position any other way than iconic. The release of this issue got people talking; how couldn’t it?! Having not just one but 40 iconic faces and previous cover stars is the most influential way Enninful could have left his 6-and-a-half-year reign. In Enninful’s farewell letter, he says, “So here it is: my 76th and final edition of Vogue, six and a half years and 153 cover stars later, including the 40 legendary women who feature on this cover. It’s been an extraordinary ride and an absolute honour.”
As we say goodbye to Edward Enninful, we remember him as the trailblazer in the fashion industry whose tenure left a lasting mark on the publication and fashion journalism. As the first male and black Editor-in-Chief in the magazine’s history, Enninful brought a fresh perspective and a commitment to inclusivity that reshaped the narrative of British Vogue.
